Every Kid Comes Back

This is how we fix youth sports

One Simple Goal

Every coach. Every kid. Every season.

One Powerful Commitment

When organizations put every player first, every kid comes back.

Our mission

01

One Goal

Every youth recreational or club sports coach has one, overriding goal: That every player on their roster returns to play again next season.

02

A New Measure of Success

What if we stopped measuring youth sports programs by championships and started measuring them by something more meaningful — how many kids loved it enough to come back?

03

Empowered Families

When organizations place the well-being of every player over everything else, parents can feel confident their child is in a program that truly puts kids first — and kids keep coming back for more.

Join the movement

Every kid deserves a coach who wants them back next season. Every family deserves a program that puts players first. If you believe that too, we’d love to stay in touch.

We’ve always believed that developing a lifelong love of the game matters more than trophies. Every Kid Comes Back gave us a framework and a language to communicate that mission to every coach in our organization. It’s simple, it’s powerful, and our coaches have embraced it completely.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Every Kid Comes Back?

A youth sports initiative with one simple mission: every coach prioritizes keeping every kid engaged and wanting to return next season.

Who is this for?

Youth sports organizations, leagues, and coaches who believe every child deserves a positive experience that has them returning season after season.

What are the “Every Kid Comes Back” wristbands?

A bright green silicone wristband with “Every Kid Comes Back” embossed in gold — a daily reminder for coaches of their #1 priority. Organizations purchase them to give to every coach in their program.

What if I Am Not Sure My Coaches Will Wear a Wristband?

Many will, some may not — but giving them out shows your coaches you’re committed to this mission.

What is the Every Kid Comes Back pledge?

A simple one-page commitment coaches sign affirming that every kid’s desire to return next season is their primary goal.

If We Have the Pledge, Why Do We Need Wristbands too?

The pledge is great but when your coaches see you’ve made an investment—given them a gift they can wear or look at on their desk—the message is much stronger.

How does my organization get involved?

Contact us to receive your free pledge document, or order wristbands directly for your coaches to wear as a daily reminder of the mission.

Why does retention matter?

Kids who keep coming back develop skills, build friendships, and grow into better people. Retention is the truest measure of a healthy program.

About Us

Meet the founder:
Brian Gotta

Brian Gotta is the founder of Help Kids Play, home to CoachDeck, the most popular youth sports training tool in North America, along with Upstart Sports, SAFE Baseball, and Supportive Parent. He has coached over 50 youth teams and watched all four of his children play college sports — three played or play professionally.
After decades observing kids fall out of love with sports because of adult behavior, Brian decided it was time to stop diagnosing the problem and start solving it.
Every Kid Comes Back is his answer.
